Castlevania S02E01: The War Council Review

Full disclosure I watched this episode after Episode Two, I somehow miss-clicked when selecting the episode, but we have now righted that wrong. “The War Council” was fine, I like that the show is telling us a bit more about the vampires and Dracula, that felt like it was missing in Season One (though a lot felt like it was missing in Season One). I’m not sure I buy the argument that the human followers Isaac and Hector are more loyal to Dracula because of their willingness to kill other humans in his service compared to the vampires, but the other vampires don’t seem to really buy that argument either so it might be purposefully flawed reasoning. I thought the “Team Kill Dracula” stuff with Trevor, Sypha, and Alucard was a little weak this episode; I appreciate Alucard having some trepidation about hunting down his father but I thought their portion was probably the weakest part of the premier. Overall, a decent enough season opener.
