The capsule tech in “Dragon Ball” is really fun, it kind of gets sidelined in “Dragon Ball Z” with all the fighting but it's still one of the series' cutest stylistic choices. This chapter we learn that Bulma is 16 and Goku is 14, which is pretty surprising as Goku looks like he’s actually six, but whatever. The we faster can hurry up past the "boobs are just second butts on women's chests" part, the better; like I get he's a mountain monkey boy whose only ever hung out with his grandpa, but I do find Goku’s whole "what are girl body parts" routine a bit cringey - though the joke about Goku freaking out that Bulma lost her balls only for her to be like "Nah the Dragon Balls are still all here silly" was cute. My biggest takeaway from this chapter is that I didn't remember the original “Dragon Ball” being this slowly paced.
